ReSound Sensia

ReSound Sensia focuses on the voice you face, with smart noise control, all-day battery, a tiny design, and fully working Auracast streaming.

ReSound Sensia is a new premium hearing aid family designed to solve a common frustration with today's AI hearing aids: focusing on the wrong voice, or mistaking background music for the sound you want to hear. Sensia follows a simple, natural cue by giving priority to the person you are looking at, while still letting you hear what is happening around you. It adds this smarter processing while keeping the very small size and all-day battery life of its predecessor, ReSound Vivia.

Hearing the Person You Want to Hear

Many AI hearing aids lock onto the loudest voice in the room, which is not always the person you are talking with. Sensia's automatic sound system, called Intelligent All-Around, uses three technologies working together to bring forward the conversation you are actually trying to follow.

First, it identifies what kind of listening environment you are in and decides which features to turn on. Next, four microphones working across both hearing aids focus on speech in the direction you are facing, while still keeping some sound from the sides and behind so you stay aware of your surroundings. Finally, an AI system trained on speech reduces competing voices and other distractions around the person you want to hear.

When the noise around you is mostly non-speech sound, like a fan or vacuum cleaner, Sensia automatically switches to ReSound's established noise reduction instead, avoiding the unnatural sound effects AI processing can create when there is no speech to work with.

Small Size, All-Day Power

Despite the added processing, the rechargeable Sensia keeps essentially the same small size and battery performance as Vivia. ReSound rates its rechargeable models for at least 24 hours of use, with up to about 30 hours depending on how you use them, and a smaller updated portable charger is also available. Sensia comes in several styles, including small behind-the-ear models with a speaker that sits in the ear canal and custom models shaped to fit inside your ear, with both rechargeable and standard battery options.

The full automatic system is found in the top technology level (Sensia 9) rechargeable micro model, while other levels and custom styles include some, but not all, of these features.

Staying Connected

Sensia supports Bluetooth LE Audio, the latest wireless standard for streaming calls, music, and other audio directly to your hearing aids. It also includes Auracast, which lets you tune into public audio broadcasts in places like theaters, airports, and conference venues, and unlike some hearing aids that are only "Auracast ready," this feature works from day one. You can find and select available broadcasts through the ReSound Smart 3D app, and at least one behind-the-ear model also includes a telecoil for use with hearing loop systems.

For people who wear a Cochlear Nucleus implant in one ear, a Sensia Bimodal option is designed to work together with the implant's sound processor.

Is ReSound Sensia Right for You?

Sensia may be a strong fit if you often find yourself in conversations where other voices or music compete with the person you want to hear. It also suits people who want a very small, discreet hearing aid with long battery life and fully working Auracast. Your hearing test results, listening needs, and the technology level that fits your budget will all help determine whether Sensia is the right choice.
